Açelya Çakmak completed her bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature Department at Doğuş University between 2010 and 2014 and graduated with an honors degree. As an exchange student, she studied English Language and Literature at the University of Cologne in Germany in the fall semester of 2012-2013. After she graduated from university, she received her Pedagogical Formation Certificate from Yıldız Technical University. She started to teach English as a foreign language in a private language school in 2013 and continued to work in different language schools until 2015. In 2015, she started to work as an English teacher and also the head of English department in a private school. She worked in the same school for 6 years until August 2021. Besides, she prepared her students as a delegate for Model UN (MUN) conferences and participated as an advisor in MUN conferences. She has been working as an English Instructor at Istanbul Medipol University since October 2021.
Ainur Zhaksylykkyzy
A CELTA – Certified and highly motivated English teacher with 25+ years of experience in teaching middle, high school students and adults. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Kazakh Ablai Khan, International Relations and World Languages University, in 1998. The same year, she came to Türkiye and started her professional carrer as an English instructor at a private university in Istanbul. She is currently working as a lecturer at Medipol university.

Akın Özdemirler, received his B.A. degree from İstanbul Aydın University in ELT department. He started his teaching career as an elementary school teacher. And after his first year as an elementary teacher, he started working as a lecturer in Medipol University
Asiye Çelikkol

Asiye Çelikkol completed her undergraduate degree in American Culture and Literature at Istanbul University and received her Pedagogical Formation Certificate from the same university. She completed his master’s degree in Comparative Literature at Istanbul Bilgi University. Before starting to work in the language school of Medipol University, she worked as a lecturer and administrator at Istanbul Aydın University. She also taught TOEFL at the same university.
Aleyna Şahin

Aleyna Şahin completed her bachelor’s degree on English Language and Literature at Istanbul Aydın University. She also received the certificate of English teaching from Istanbul Aydın University. Following her graduation, she worked at private language schools as an English Teacher. Since 2020, she has been working as an Instructor at Istanbul Medipol University.
Alicem Elverdi
Alicem Elverdi completed his B.A. degree on English Literature and Arts at Istanbul Kültür University in 2009 and received Pedagogical Formation for English Language Teaching Certificate from Yıldız Technical University the same year. Upon graduation, he worked at Dilko College at various departments such as English for Juniors, University Preparation Exam for senior high school students, YDS exam preparation for adults and General English. Right before joining Medipol University as English Instructor, he worked at American Language Center in the USA for six months, teaching English to Hispanic adults.

She received her Pedagogical Formation Certificate from the Faculty of Education at İstanbul University. Before joining Medipol University, when she was conference assistant, she worked voluntarily as an Assistant of Head of Department, English Language and Literature at Karadeniz Technical University. She also worked at Manchester Language Schools and İTÜ ETA Foundation Doğa Schools as an English Teacher. Aysun Gündüz

Aysun Gündüz completed her BA in Karadeniz Technical University at English Language and Literature Department in 2004. She received her English Teaching pedagogical formation from Yıldız Technical University in 2005. She worked at several private colleges such as Doğa College, Marmara College, Okan University, İstek Vakfı as an English teacher both as primary and secondary and also head of the department. She has been teaching at Medipol University Language School since 2021-2022 academic year.
Ayşe Kılıç

Ayşe Kılıç received her BA degree from Uludağ University, English Language Teaching Department in 2011. The same year, after being accepted to the Comenius Programme, she went to Barcelona, Spain to work as an assistant teacher in a public secondary school. In the school, in addition to the regular language classes, she started sharing cultural features of Turkey and organizing events to do so. Meanwhile she also attended an intensive course to learn Spanish language. After completing her duty, she came back to Turkey and started to work in various language schools and private colleges. In these colleges, she also organized many drama events in English together with her students and she worked with various groups to attend one of the most prestigious global events among schools, Destination Imagination. In 2019, receiving a personal call from a former colleague, she started to work in Nisantasi University. After having many experiences with the students there, she wanted to be a part of the Istanbul Medipol University Language School team and have been teaching there since October 2020. Currently, she is studying for a master’s degree in English Language Teaching at Maltepe University.

Barış GÜNAY completed his undergraduate degree in English Language Teaching at Istanbul University in 2000. He taught professional English at the Air Force Academy. Before becoming a member of Istanbul Medipol University, she worked as an English teacher at various language schools and private institutions. He has been working as a lecturer at Istanbul Medipol University since 2015 and has given general and Professional English courses in various departments. As of the 2020 – 2021 education period, after taking part in the preparatory staff, he continues in the departments mainly in Vocational English.
Bedirhan Duran

Bedirhan Duran, lisans eğitimini 2014-2018 yılları arasında Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi İngilizce Öğretmenliği bölümünde bitirip, mezun olmuştur. 2018-2021 yılları arasında, mezuniyetin hemen arkasından Amerikan Life Dil Okullarında öğretmenlik kariyerine başlamıştır. Ağustos 2021 döneminde CELTA programına katılmış ve programı başarıyla bitirmiştir. Ardından İngilizce öğretmenliği kariyerine üniversitede devam ederek Beykoz Üniversitesinde kendisine deneyim kazandırmıştır. Ekim 2022’den itibaren kariyerine İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi’nde öğretim görevlisi olarak devam etmektedir.
Betül SOYSAL
Betül Soysal, 2015-2019 yılları arasında lisans eğitimini İstanbul 29 Mayıs Üniversitesi İngilizce Mütercim – Tercümanlık bölümünde tamamlamış, 2019-2022 yılları arasında ise yine İstanbul 29 Mayıs Üniversitesi’nde Çeviribilim alanındaki yüksek lisansını bitirmiştir. 2022 yılında, İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi’nde Öğretim Görevlisi olarak çalışmaya başlamıştır.
Cihad Furkan Eliaçık
Atty. Cihad Furkan ELİAÇIK, his undergraduate degrees are respectively 1-) Gazi University – English Language Teaching, 2-) Anadolu University – International Relations and 3-) Altınbaş University – Faculty of Law (30% in English). He completed his master’s degree in Özyeğin University – Social Sciences Institute – Public Law. His doctorate education continues in the field of Public Law at Istanbul Medipol University Institute of Social Sciences. He has a published book titled “Cyber Security of Nuclear Power Plants in the Context of International Law”. There are various national/international projects that he participated/executes. He is the founding director of Farabi Talks, whose aim is to train entrepreneurial university students who can speak English well. He is registered in the Translator (ENGLISH) Expert Witness List in the Presidency of the Ministry of Justice/Istanbul Judicial Court of First Instance/Justice Commission. Receiving his Attorney’s License from the Istanbul Bar Association, has the title of Certified Translator and teaches ESP (Professional English classes) in Faculties. Having been to the Harvard and MIT Universities, he is married and has one child.

Begüm Sarıdede completed her undergraduate education in the field of English Language Teaching at Yıldız Technical University and continued her master’s degree in the Department of Teaching Turkish to Foreigners at Istanbul University. She worked as teaching assistant and get TESOL certificate at Northern Virginia Community College. She worked as a Turkish language assistant at New York University and took doctoral courses with Fulbright scholarship in 2020. She is continuing her doctorate education in the linguistics department of Istanbul University. She has been working as a lecturer at Istanbul Medipol University since 2017.

Begüm Yağız graduated from Kadir Has University, department of American Culture and Literature in 2015. She attended exchange program at North Central College in Chicago to study American Studies for a year. She completed and received a certificate of Pedagogical Formation from Yıldız Technical University in 2016. She taught general English and proficiency preparation classes in various language schools. She taught English to 7th and 8th grade children as a volunteer teacher in a secondary school in 2017. She completed her master’s degree at Istanbul Bilgi University in the field of Critical and Cultural Studies in 2019. She has been teaching at Medipol University since 2018.

Betül Sağıroğlu completed her BA in Eskişehir Anatolian University from the English Language Teaching department in 2015. She continues her education with MA in Trakya University in the department of English Language Education. She taught exam oriented and general purpose English from 2014 to 2016 in various language schools. She worked in Istanbul Gelişim University from 2016 to 2020, and in the meantime she served as the Coordinator of Assessment and Evaluation Unit for a year and the Coordinator of Extracurricular Activities for six months. She has been teaching at Medipol University Language School since 2021-2022 academic year.

Burcu Altun Günay graduated from American Culture and Literature department at İstanbul University in 2002. While she was a university student, she completed her internship in Vefa High School. She received her Pedagogical Formation Certificate from Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty at İstanbul University in 2002. After graduation, she started her teaching career in an Aviation school and taught general and aviation English to candidates of pilots and flight attendants. She also worked as an English teacher in various private Language Teaching Centers. She prepared students for IELTS, TOEFL, YDS, and English proficiency exams between 2004 and 2013. She also gave general and professional English lessons in an Anatolian and Tourism Management High School between 2005 and 2016. Burcu DEMİREL was born in Ankara in 1995. She received her BA degree in Translation & Interpreting (English-French-Turkish) Department at Cumhuriyet University in 2018. While studying at Cumhuriyet University, she participated in both Erasmus+ Student Exchange Programme (2015-2016) and Erasmus+ Internship Programme (2018) in France. She got The Certificate of Pedagogical Formation in 2018. In 2018, she participated in ‘’Young Translators Competition 2018’’ Organized by The Ministry of European Union Affairs and ranked the third place (Language: French). In 2019, she applied ‘’Translation Studies Master Program’’ at Istanbul Okan University. In 2020, she worked in a language course as an English teacher. In 2021, she worked at a public school as an English Teacher. Meanwhile, she started giving private English lessons. In 2021, She participated in Training Program on Petrophysics and Drilling for Trainees from Chad as a French translator. Büşra Sancak
Büşra Sancak graduated from Gazi University, the department of English Language and Literature in 2018. In the same year, she received her Pedagogical Formation certificate offered by Gazi Faculty of Education. She was an exchange student in Hungary Eszterházy Károly Egyetem in 2016 and took linguistics and literature courses from the department of English Studies. After graduation, Sancak started her teaching career as an instructor at Istanbul Okan University. She received the certificate of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language from Istanbul University in 2022 and tought Turkish to foreign students. She joined Istanbul Medipol University Language School in September 2022. Cansu Çiprut

Cansu Çiprut graduated from Istanbul University English Language and Literature Department. She completed English Teaching Pedagogical Formation and Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Programs at the same university. She received her MA degree from Istanbul University English Langauge and Literature Department with her thesis on metaphysical English poetry which is entitled “The Transcendental Experience in John Donne’s Poetry”. Currently, she is a student at Istanbul University Political Science and International Relations Department. She has been interested in interdisciplinary studies since her undergraduate years. She attended Istanbul University English Literature Festivals and gave two presentations which are “From White Rabbit to Dracula: Literature and Music” and “A Truffaut Film: Fahrenheit 451 and Bibliocaust”. She also attended 2nd National Horror narratives Conference organized by IU English Language and Literature department with her presentation “The Timeless Child of a Modern Time Fairy Tale: Edward Scissorhands”. She has been teaching English since 2009 in several private institutions and schools. She trained students for YDS (LYS-5), KET and Cambridge Young Learners exams. She also worked as an English instructor at Altınbaş University School of Foreign Languages. In addition to English, she knows Ladino and has been learning Spanish and pursuing her interdisciplinary studies.
Cüneyt Yüce
Cüneyt Yüce received his A.A. degree in Applied English – Turkish program from Istanbul Aydın University and his B.A. degree in American Culture and Literature program from Istanbul University. After graduation, he received a Pedagogical Formation Certificate in English Teaching from Marmara University Ataturk Faculty of Education. In 2019, he completed his master’s degree in Turkish Language and Literature program at Boğaziçi University with his thesis titled “A Queer Deviance in Turkish Detective Fiction: The Hop-Çiki-Yaya Series by Mehmet Murat Somer”. He started working as an instructor at Istanbul Aydın University, he taught “General English”, “Vocational English” and also “Turkish for Translators” courses there. Then, he continued working as a full-time English instructor at Istanbul Okan University English Preparatory Division and also taught “Academic English” courses. Besides, he worked as a Testing Unit member and administrated Support Training in English Practices (STEP) Unit. In September 2022, he started working at Istanbul Medipol University Language School. She also graduated from the department of Brand Communication at Anadolu University. In 2015, she received her CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults / Cambridge University ) from Oxford House College in London. Before joining İstanbul Medipol University, she worked as an English Instructor at İstanbul Aydın University English Preparatory School. Meanwhile, she was one of the coordinators of Remedial Teaching Center. Derya Güngör has been working at İstanbul Medipol University since 2016.

Derya Komar, graduated from Marmara University, Business Administration in 2011. After the graduation she switched her major to English literature and graduated from Istanbul University, English Language and Literature in 2018. During the undergraduate study, she did intership as a translator and completed the Pedagogical Formation Certificate program offered by Istanbul University. Duygu Yalçıner

Duygu has received her bachelor degree in English Language Teaching at Yeditepe University. She has also been a participant and a member in a drama association. She has studied on theories, practices related with creative drama technique in education. Within this association, she has volunteered in some social organisations and in creative drama conferences. She has worked at several private language schools as an instructor, exam practitioner and in exam preparation units. She worked at School of Foreign Languages in Marmara University before she started working at Language School, Medipol University. In Marmara, in addition to her classroom hours, she assisted students in extra- curricular activities such as school musical and general knowledge quiz shows. She attended an online teacher training program based on different ways to increase students’ motivation in 2019. Training program was organised by University of Oregon and American English E- Teacher. At the end of this e- training session, she presented her training and classroom experiences in 2nd International ELT Conference in Eskişehir Osmangazi University. Duygu has been working at Language School since October, 2020. Meanwhile she is still re-searching online teaching and learning. She is looking forward to beginning her masters degree program, soon.
Ece Dil
Ece Dil graduated from Gazi University, the department of English Language and Literature. She received pedagogical formation education from the same university. After graduation, she worked at various private schools as a high school English teacher. Before joining Medipol University, she worked at Okan University as an English instructor. As of September 2022, she has joined İstanbul Medipol University. She is currently receiving her master’s degree in Gender Studies from Kocaeli University.
Ecem Akgül
Ecem Akgül received her bachelor’s degree at Marmara University Department of English
Language Teaching with a high honor degree as the third in the department. She started her
career as an English Teacher at Bilfen Educational Institutions and continued to work at the
same institution for four years. During this time, she gave Individual Progress Time (IPT)
lessons that support the individual development of students with special abilities in foreign
languages, within the scope of the Renzulli Learning System, which adopts a differentiated
teaching model. She has teacher development certificates of TOEFL Primary and TOEFL iBT
exams, which are valid in many countries around the world. In 2021, she was accepted to
Yeditepe University English Language Teaching Master’s Program with Thesis, and she still
continues her thesis studies. She continues her career as an instructor at Medipol University

Elif ERBAY completed her bachelor degree at Boğaziçi University where she studied Foreign Language Education. After graduating from the university, she started to work as an English instructor at Yeni Yüzyıl University. Currently, she is working at Medipol University Language School.
Elif Karpuz
Elif KARPUZ received her bachelor’s degree from the Department of American Culture and Literature at Istanbul University in 2018. After graduation, she completed the Pedagogical Formation Certificate program at Marmara University. She has worked as an English teacher for various schools, such as private language teaching centers, public schools and Istanbul Enstitü ISMEK. She is currently doing her master’s degree at Istanbul University, Department of American Culture and Literature. Her research field is related to the relationship between marriage and space in the 19th century New York in the novels of Edith Wharton. Elif Karpuz has been working as a lecturer at Medipol University since 2022.

Elifnur Dayıoğlu completed her B.A. in English Language Teaching in Marmara University with an Honor Degree in 2018. The same year, she started her M.A in English Language and Literature in Yeditepe University. She is in her thesis stage and her thesis topic is “Ecofeminist Reading of American and Turkish Women Writers”. She started her career in Marmara University as a student assistant. She worked there until she graduated. Before working in Medipol University, she worked in Uskudar University as an English Instructor.

Elif Gülşahin holds a BA degree from Marmara University in the department of English Language Teaching. She also has an associate degree in Radio and Television Program Production from Anadolu University. She has worked at Istanbul Okan University between 2018 and 2021 both as an English Language Instructor and as a Testing Unit Member. Emin Gürkan

Emin Gürkan was born in Samsun. He received his BA degree in English Language Teaching Department (ELT) at Sakarya University in 2016. While studying at Sakarya University, she participated in Erasmus+ Student Exchange Programme (2015-2016). He was rewarded by the dean of Education Faculty since he became top student in Foreign Languages Department in terms of GPA. In 2017, he started his Master Degree at Uludağ University. His department was English Language Education. During his education, he both wrote and presented an article about Information Communication Technologies in an international language conference. In 2020, he graduated from Uludağ University after he finished his thesis about Intercultural Communication Sensitivity. In 2021, he applied ‘’English Language Education PhD Program at Yeditepe University. After having a challenging interview, he was accepted the program. As a work experience, he taught hundreds of students from different private universities. Also, he worked at some international companies as a private tutor. As a hobby, he is interested in playing chess. He had been the chess champion for three years at Sakarya university. He has been working as an Instructor at Istanbul Medipol University since September 2021 and at the same time completing his PhD degree at Yeditepe University.

During his bachelor’s degree, he worked at several places including TOBB ETU Foreign Language School as an intern. He is a master student in Karabük University English Language and Literature department since 2019. Enis Işık completed his B.A. in Marmara University, Department of English Language Teaching in 2016. His Master’s degree education continues at Yeditepe University English Language and Education Department. During his undergraduate education, he worked as a consultant and English tutor at a private ‘Business English’ institute. Following the graduation, he worked worked as an English teacher at secondary and high school levels in private schools for 3 years. Before Medipol University, he worked at Uskudar University as English Instructor and Testing Coordinator.

Erkin ÜNLÜ graduated from Istanbul Aydın University, Department of English Language Teaching in 2019. Then he started to work at various colleges and gave lectures at different levels. He joined Medipol University as a lecturer in 2022.
Ertuğrul Akın

Ertuğrul Akın received his bachelor’s degree from English Language Teaching department at Istanbul University in 2017. He has worked as an English teacher for various schools since he started his teaching career at Robert College of Istanbul as a trainee English teacher in 2016. A few years later, he received the Fulbright scholarship from the government of the USA and completed his program working as a Fulbright FLTA at the University of Kansas in 2019. Before he joined Medipol University in 2020, he worked as an English instructor for a year at Şehir University. Esma BAĞCI, graduated from Ege University where she studied English Language and Literature. Her first year of experience was at a corporate company. She started her academic career at the School of Foreign Languages at Nişantaşı University. She continued her career at Bahçeşehir College – Science and Technology High School. She joined English Immersion Program with her students in 2018, Ottawa. Before starting her career at Medipol University, she worked as a lecturer at Nişantaşı University at the School of Foreign Languages and faculty departments.

Esra Didem Aydın graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Linguistics. She started her teaching career at Ankara University Preparatory School as an English Instructor. Esra Günseli EROL received her bachelor’s degree from Marmara University, the Department of English Language Teaching (ELT) in 2018. She has worked as an English Language Instructor since her graduation. Before becoming a member of Istanbul Medipol University, she worked for Altınbaş University, School of Foreign Languages for two and a half years, and she was also employed as an ESP (English for Specific Purposes) content creator in terms of designing curriculum and materials. She has been working on several researches in the fields of ESP, ELT and Linguistics.
Esra Seferinoğlu
Esra Seferinoğlu completed her undergraduate education at Marmara University, English Language Teaching Department with a high honor degree as the secondin the department.Then she worked as an English Teacher at Bilfen Educational Institutions for four years. In the same period, she gave “Individual Progress Time” (IPT) lessons to students with special abilities in foreign languages within the scope of the Renzulli Learning System, which has proven its success scientifically all over the world. She has certificatesof participation in TOEFL teacher development courses and workshops.By successfully completing the Education Coaching Certificate program approved by Başkent University in 2020, she was entitled to acquire the profession of professional coaching. Gökçe Doğan Şaltan finished her Master’s Degree at Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute in the department of English Language and Literature. She wrote her dissertation on the topic of “Feminism in Dystopian Literature during the 20th and 21st century.” Along with the English Pedogogical Formation Teaching Certificate from Yıldız Technical University in 2010, she has had her CELTA certificate from Istanbul British Council since 2012. She has gone to Germany Eberhard Karls Tübingen University during her Bacherlor’s Degree with an Erasmus Scholarship and finished most of her studies of senior higher classes there in 1 year period of time. Just before she joined İstanbul Medipol University Prep School staff, she was the Academic Writing Center Coordinator and a Level Supervisor at various universities and worked as an Instructor there. Gökçe Özgen graduated from İstanbul University English Language Teaching Department in 2016. During her undergraduate education, she participated in lots of EU Projects. She also studied at the University of Granada as an Erasmus+ exchange student in the spring term of 2015. She completed her master’s degree at Istanbul University, Department of Theatre Critics and Dramaturgy with the dissertation titled “Rewriting Strategies Of Ancient Greek Texts In Turkish Theater”. Güngör Kırış Uğuzluoğlu completed her undergraduate degree at Erciyes University English Language and Literature department and got her English Teaching Certificate (Pedagogical Formation Certificate) from the same university. She has ITI Testing and Assessment Certificate. Her professional career began eleven years ago as an English instructor and has continued nonstop. Güven Kimençe graduated from Istanbul University, Department of English Language and Literature in 2012. He also received his Pedagogical Formation certificate in his alma mater in 2012. He is currently doing his master’s degree at Istanbul Medipol University, Department of Media and Communication Systems. He went to Portugal as an exchange student within the scope of his master’s education, and he took courses in Editorial Design from Instituto Politécnico de Tomar. He worked as a lecturer at Istanbul Biruni University between 2014 and 2016. He has been working at Istanbul Medipol University since 2016.
IHAB GAZI
Ihab Gazi is an English instructor, translator and an educational content creator. He has been teaching English to adults for over ten years. He came to Turkey eight years ago and he taught foreign students from around the world at English Time Language School in Kocaeli, with a focus on effective cross-cultural communication. He also worked at Nesibe Aydın Okulları in kcoaeli as a high school English teacher, where he taught classes within the framework of Cambridge International curriculum and prepared high school students for IELTS test. Ihab was also responsible for preparing high school students for Turkish International Model United Nations (TIMUN), which is one of the most prestigious and dynamic hubs of youth discourse in the World. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature as well as Cambridge CELTA. Besides, he had his pedagogical qualification back in 2013 and he acquired an insight into the best practices for a classroom setting. Ihab had lived in different countries and learned their languages. He speaks 5 languages which makes it easier for him to understand students better and to know and meet their needs in learning English. Irina Shelenkova is a PhD and an Associate Professor. Most of her academic life she has spent working at Tambov State Technical University in Russia, teaching General English and ESP. She has administrative experience in the educational sphere. Irina Shelenkova was a member of Tempus project ‘Innovative Language Curricula in Technical Universities’, one of the authors of the coursebook ‘English for Academic Mobility’, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF, and a co-author of ‘English for Academics: Book1’ (Cambridge University Press). Irina Shelenkova is the author of 38 articles and conference proceedings, 1 monograph, and 19 books. She started her work at Medipol University in 2019.
İpek Çolak
İpek Çolak currently holds her bachelor’s of ELT from Istanbul Medipol University having graduated with the third highest ranked degree student. She started her professional life as an English teacher in a private institution. She worked as an assistant exam coordinator in SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). She represented Turkey in the project named ERASMUS + Step by Step towards Digital Learning and worked as a project manager in Social Hackathon competition held in Italy. Levent Balcıoğlu was born in Ankara in 1975. He graduated from Ankara University, English Language and Literature in 1998. He pursued his studies at Başkent University master’s level in business administration and earned his first master’s degree there (MBA). Then, he started teaching English at academic level at various universities. In 2010, he earned his second master’s degree in English Language teaching (ELT) at Maltepe University. He has published articles in ELT journals. He presented countless papers both abroad and in Turkey at international and local ELT seminars and conferences. His main area of concern is teaching academic writing and critical thinking skills through reading. He is also interested in academic writing research. Muhammed Arıkan started his education in England and continued with English Language and Literature at Ataturk University after returning to Turkey and graduated in 2010. He is also experienced in simultaneous translation. Muhammed Yamout is a college-level English instructor who has mainly been teaching advanced learners and prepares them for international exams such as TOEFL & IELTS since 2015 at Dialogue Language Schools. Muhammed believes that perseverance and single-mindedness allow us to fulfill the aspiration of becoming a better version of ourselves and thus everyone should invariably be enamored of working on their CPD which is not only a fundamental part of academic excellence, but it also enhances one’s critical thinking in every aspect. He has also been nominated Teacher of the Year for two consecutive years. Selin Nur Hürmüz received her Bachelor’s degree in English Language teaching at İstanbul University in 2016. She completed her Master’s degree in History and Oriental Studies at University of Bologna with 4.0 GPA in 2017 where she served as a project assistant in summer school on Global Studies and Critical theory-Planetary Urbanscapes. She had the opportunity to work with world-famous academics before joining Medipol University. She worked for different institutions as an EFL and ESL teacher based in Italy, Turkey, and the UK. Her research interests include mainly contemporary urban landscapes of the Middle East as well as gender studies.
Semanur Gencan

Semanur GENCAN received her B.A degree from the department of Western Languages and Literatures in Boğaziçi University. She wrote her B.A thesis on the perception of Victorian Women with the title “Writing Against Victorian Polarization of Woman: Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights”. Upon her graduation, she furthered her studies in the field of Cultural Studies in Istanbul Bilgi University with the M.A thesis “The Construction of Material and Visual Culture for the Changing Muslim Female Portrait in 2000s: The Case of Islamic Fashion Magazines and a Visuality-Based Social Media Network”. In the same period, she got ELT Certificate from Bahçeşehir University. Since 2013, she has been working as an English Instructor in Higher Education. Since September 2016, she has been working as an English Instructor at Istanbul Medipol University for General and Vocational English.
Semih Pala

Semih PALA graduated from Ege University English language and literature department in 2006. Before his graduation, he attended TESOL certificate program by Ege University in 2005. After his graduation, he started to work in Ege University School of Foreign Languages for 6 years. He set up and provided consultancy for firms in the field of academic, medical and legal English. He completed training programs on translation and NLP. He is the translation editor or translator of 4 books and 124 SCI index medical and legal papers. His field of expertise and interests are medical translation, OET, TIPDIL-YOKDIL( Medical English Proficiency Exam), IELTS exam preparation apart from medical and legal translation trainings and educations for healthcare & legal entities. He has been a member of Medipol University since 2020.
Sena Sinarer

She graduated from Izmir University of Economics, English Translation and Interpretation Department in 2011 and in my senior year, she had a Pedagogical Formation in the Faculty of Education in Dokuz Eylül University. After she had graduated from the department, she worked as an English Language Teacher for one year in Celal Bayar University, the Faculty of Engineering and then continued to work in the Foreign Schools of Languages for five years. She has also been working as a freelance translator since she graduated from the university. In 2017, she started her Master’s programme entitled “Translation Studies” in Istanbul 29 Mayıs University and completed her Master’s Degree in 2021. Since 2017, she has also been working in Istanbul Medipol University Language School.
Seval Akmeşe

Seval Akmeşe graduated from English Language Teaching Department at Istanbul University in 2007. She’s been at her master’s thesis stage at Educational Administration and Supervision Departmen at Educational Faculty of Istanbul University. She worked at Haliç University as a full time English Lecturer at Preparatory Department for 8 years. She continued teaching as part time at İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University for two years. She got a certificate of Creative Writing given by Academician and Author Murat Gülsoy at Lifelong Learning Center at Boğaziçi University. Besides, she took part in several photography exbitions as a member of 40 Haramiler Photography Project Group after having completed Professional Photography Training.

Sinem Sipahi Aykut graduated from Istanbul University, English Language and Literature Department in 2006. She completed Pedagogical Training in 2007 in Istanbul University. She started Sociology Department, at Istanbul University Auzef in 2018. She has been working at Istanbul Medipol University as an instructor since September 2015. Şenay Çaylan completed her bachelor’s degree in English Teaching at Marmara University. She completed her MA degree in Education Management and Auditing at Yeditepe University in 2012 and she got her doctorate degree in Business Administration at Maltepe University in 2022. She is studying on enhancing Employability and Critical Thinking skills.
She also attended a program on Human Rights &Ethical Values at Uskudar University between 2015 – 2018 and has a certificate.
She started as an English teacher at Bahçeşehir College in between 2002-2004. Than she started to work as a school principal and than as an International Relation Coordinator at Doga Schools between 2004 and 2017. Before being a member of Istanbul Medipol University she worked as an instructor at Gelişim University.

Şeyma Gezen Kanacı completed her bachelor’s degree at Marmara University, English Language Teaching Department. She received the certificate of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language from Marmara University. Before İstanbul Medipol University, she worked as an English instructor at Nisantasi University. She has been working at Istanbul Medipol University since 2016. She continues with her MA studies at 29 Mayıs University, the Department of Translation Studies.

Taner Akbaş studied French Language and Literature at Ankara University and English Language and Literature at İstanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University. He completed his MA studies in the frame of “19th century English Travel Literature and Foreign Politics”. Instructor Taner Akbaş, who holds a CELTA degree (Certificate of English Language Teaching by Cambridge University), has been responsible of instructing and creating contents at the university level for the purposes of General English, Business English and Exam English since 2015.

Tuğçe Sarraç graduated from Ankara University English Language and Literature Department. She has Teaching English Language Certificate (Pedagogical Proficiency) from Yıldız Teknik University, Teaching Business English and TESOL Certificates from International TEFL Corporation and Teacher Development Interactive Certificate from Hunter College City University of New York. Before joining in İstanbul Medipol University in 2015, she worked as an instructor in Altınbaş University and as English teacher in English Time Language Course.
Umut Salih Özbay
Umut Salih Özbay graduated from Boğaziçi University English Language Teaching Department between 2013-2018 and graduated. Between 2018-2020, she started her teaching career at Bahçeşehir College after her graduation. Afterwards, he worked in the preparatory units of İstinye University and Bahçeşehir Universities. He has been continuing his career as a lecturer at Istanbul Medipol University since October 2022.

Ufuk Baştuğ graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Letters; American Culture and Literature in 2018 with his thesis: “Space Race Politics of the United States and Americanization of Outer Space.” He is currently a master’s student in Translation Studies at Okan University. Ümran Omaç graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language Teaching from Marmara University in 2018. The same year, Ümran started to her teaching career as an instructor at Hasan Kalyoncu University English Preparatoy School. Before being a member of Medipol University, she had been working as an instructor at Yeni Yüzyıl University Preparatory School for a year. Currently, she is studying for her MA Degree at Yeditepe University in the field of English Language Teaching. She has been working for İstanbul Medipol University since December 2020.

Vildan Rabia Yar graduated from Marmara University where she studied English Language Teaching. Her first year of experience teaching English was at a high school and ISMEK. After her first year, she started to work as an English instructor at Nişantaşı University Language School. Being a good team player with people skills she was also selected as a unit supervisor in the second term. Due to her interest in computers and technology integrated language teaching, she was also the online admin for Pearson My English lab on behalf of Nişantaşı University. She also received a CPD Training certificate from PEARSON during her time here.
